Feeling nauseated must be one of the worst conditions to suffer from, and the first question asked is usually how to get rid of nausea. There are usually no signs to warn a person that they are going to feel this way, which is why it is good that there are wonderful home remedies to help treat it. Over the counter medicines are also available if this is what a person prefers.

The sources of nausea can vary, from stress, fatigue and pregnancy to some foods or even food poisoning. Anti-emetic drugs are used to treat this condition and a pharmacy can recommend one if required. If a person cannot get themselves as far as the chemist, they can simply use one of the remedies below to help them overcome this problem.

Ginger is a powerful anti-emetic herb and it will help settle stomach very effectively. There are different ways to ingest ginger such as: ginger ale, ginger chew sweeties used for motion sickness, ginger teas, lozenges, using fresh ginger in cooking or if all else fails, chew on a piece of ginger. Peppermint is another wonderful herb to use in stomach ailments and it will help for stomach cramps too.

Dry crackers or plain biscuits can do wonders for a nauseated person. Chew on 3 or 4 of those and lie down for 10 minutes after and a person will feel much better when they get up again. This method soothes the stomach and reduces nausea very quickly.

An old time wonderful home remedy is good chicken soup. Clear, basic ingredient chicken flavoured soup will almost instantly bring a change to how a person feels. If a person has no one to prepare it for them, they can simply use a canned variety, which will work just as well.

Stress is one of the biggest culprits in causing nausea and this is the body's way of informing the individual. Rest and relaxation is essential and about 15 minutes worth can make a person feel so much better. In this way a person will learn how to get rid of nausea in a simple but effective way.
