A great idea when it comes to fitness is to avoid taking shortcuts. For example if you live in an apartment complex about a quarter mile from the trash compactor, don't put the trash in the car and drive it to the compactor, WALK! This will get some much needed daily exercise into your routine.

If you choose running or walking as your exercise make sure that you wear shoes that are comfortable and fit you properly. Shoes that don't fit properly can, at best, leave you with painful blisters by the time you're done walking or running. At worst they can trip you up and cause you to twist your ankle.

Test the flexibility of your hip flexors by keeping your heels flat on the ground while you do your squats. If this cannot be done, they are much too tight. Try stretching them by holding onto a squat rack and lowering your body until it is nearly parallel to the ground; hold this for 30 seconds. Go back up and repeat at least 5 times.

Even if you have very little time for exercise, you can still make enough time to do little bits that help a lot. Do some pushups on the floor while you're waiting for water to boil for pasta. Do some jumping jacks before bed. If you can find just half an hour of unused time every day, you can improve your fitness dramatically.

Begin your exercise routine slowly and work your way up. Don't start out with a super-challenging workout routine, or you will surely become discouraged. Instead, look for fun and easy physical activities to get you moving. Be sure to listen to your favorite music while you exercise. Good music makes everything easier!

There are many exercises that are qualified as fitness, and many ways to get motivated. You have to find something that works for you. With fitness, you can easily create a personalized work out routine that you enjoy. The more you learn about fitness, the more you will find it interesting.
