Teeth Whitening Ideas For A Brighter Smile

By Thad Duncan

While you may have been hesitant to start a teeth whitening process or unsure of the value, you can learn a few things here. This article will address some common questions and concerns regarding teeth whitening, and help you achieve some great results with the process.

The next time you brush your teeth, instead of using toothpaste, try baking soda. Brushing your teeth with baking soda can be a great way to naturally whiten your teeth. Baking soda can make your gums feel irritated, so be sure to brush your teeth gently with it.

You should keep an eye on any sensitivity or irritation after using over-the-counter whitening products. If you do experience such symptoms, the likely culprit is too much peroxide. Switch to a product with a lower peroxide concentration. In most cases, these side effects will go away a couple of days after you start using the product.

Use walnut tree bark to brighten your teeth. Rub a small piece of bark against the surface of your teeth to wipe away yellow stains.

Strawberries are a great, natural teeth whitener. The natural compounds contained within strawberries will whiten your teeth and eliminate the need to expose them to chemicals. You can mash them finely into paste and use that on your toothbrush or you can just cut a strawberry and use it to rub your teeth while relaxing.

Be mindful of what you consume after you have whitened your teeth. Immediately after receiving teeth whitening treatment, your teeth will be more susceptible to color absorption, and staining. It's best to avoid dark colored foods and drinks after your whitening session. This is especially true for tea, coffee and ketchup, which will easily be absorbed by your teeth and ruin the whitening you had done.

Do not expect your crowns to whiten as you bleach. Teeth whitening products will whiten your teeth, but any crowns you may have are not going to get any whiter or brighter.

Even though it's promoted as an oral hygiene product, mouthwash might be hurting your teeth and your teeth whitening efforts. The alcohol and other chemicals in mouthwash have been proven to cause brown or yellow stains by removing the enamel that keeps your teeth white. Go see your dentist to ask if he wants you to use mouthwash or not.

Having a brighter, whiter smile can really make you happier. Whiter teeth not only makes you much more attractive; it helps you to be more confident in society. This will help you enjoy life more than you had been. Apply the tips you have read to get outstanding results quickly and for a low cost.
