Protein "P11" as a Way to Fight Depression

By Jaime Charlies

If you're struggling with depression, eating more protein may help you to deal with the symptoms. In 2006, scientists conducted a study which showed that the protein, P11, affects depression significantly. This protein regulates serotonin, which is a chemical in the brain related to moods. Previous studies had also shown that serotonin is related to anxiety disorders and depression.

In various previous studies done prior to these new discoveries, Serotonin had been linked with depression and also anxiety disorders. The interesting thing about all of this is that Serotinon is what nearly every anti-depressant is made to date, is supposed to regulate, including Prozac.

Is P11 a cure? P11 does seem to work well for victims of depression, by helping them to regulate their symptoms and regain control over their emotions. However, it is a well-known fact that different people react differently to chemicals. P11 may not have the same effects on everyone.

The best solution is to consult your doctor about whether P11 is a good choice for you. He or she may advise that you try P11 for an amount of time, and see whether you experience any negative side effects.

If you do not experience any positive effects from anti-depressants then you can try Paxil. Paxil could very well be the future of antidepressants, due to it targeting the 5-HT receptors, which cause very few side effects.

Entrepreneur Alert! Since p11 is a natural (completely organic) chemical it cannot be patented! Similar to how no one can patent depression quotes which may have the power to help people through depression. Using p11 in future antidepressants will soon be huge. The funds to get such a business started are unknown, but you could do some research and some deep pocket investing to be the first to jump on this market.
