West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe

My girlfriend and I ventured into the West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe a couple of days ago for lunch. It was our first time there, and we walked out wondering how in the world we managed to deprive ourselves of this experience for so long.

The food and service was beyond excellent. We both had grilled cheese sandwiches. But these sandwiches aren't just any grilled cheese sandwiches, you understand. They're West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe grilled cheese sandwiches. For $4.99, you get to pick out your bread and two cheeses. I chose a habanero jack cheese and an onion cheese on wheat bread. It was absolutely delicious. For that price, you also get chips and a pickle.

We also browsed around the store part of it. A great selection of beers, wines, pantry goods, and specialty items. For another $1.50, I walked out with a beef stick that was to die for. We were both impressed.

The West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe has three locations around the Milwaukee area. We visited the one in West Allis, at 6832 W. Becher Street. The other two locations are at 400 N. Water Street and 2974 N. Oakland Avenue. This is a place worth checking out.
