The Facebook Generation Says “I do” : Steps You Can Take to Reduce the Risk of Identity Theft for You and Your New Family

By Andre’ Andropolis

You’re somewhere in your 20s or early 30s. You got hooked on Facebook when you were in college or perhaps even in high school, and you still go on it frequently. Heck, you may still have a Myspace profile lingering out there in cyberspace.

But you’re married now, and perhaps even raising a family.

With your spouse and each child, the risks of identity theft entering your life, whether it affects your own identity or that of someone you love, dramatically increases. Fortunately, there are some easy steps you can take right now to reduce your risk of identity theft. In no particular order, they are:

  • Don’t list your full birth date on your social media profiles
  • Don’t list your home address on your social media profiles
  • Use caution when requesting/adding or confirming friendships or connections on your social media profiles
  • Change your account passwords frequently, using a nice variety of numbers, capital and lowercase letters, and any symbols you’re allowed to use
  • Don’t use the same password for multiple accounts
  • Check your privacy settings on your social media profiles and adjust them accordingly if necessary
  • Any profiles out there you no longer really use? Clean up unnecessary clutter you have online by deleting them
  • If you have children, use caution in what you share on your social media profiles about them

To briefly address the last point, let’s be realistic here. It can be very tough for parents to not want to share information about their children across their various social networks. And it clearly shows. All across the Internet, photos, birthdates, vitals at birth, the name of the hospital, and other information about their children are freely shared by doting parents. But while it’s tough to resist that urge to share with others information about the greatest, most meaningful, and beautiful joy in your life, you have to try. You have to use caution. All it takes, unfortunately, is for someone who knows what they’re doing, to take a few of the facts that you have shared about your children online, and run with them. Before you know it, you’re experiencing identity theft. And identity theft can be a long, painful road to go down, one that can drain you emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially as you fight to clear your name, or that of your spouse or child.

Fortunately, there are easy strategies that you can implement immediately to protect yourself and those you love by reducing the risks of identity theft.

Using Social Network Marketing Strategies

By John Tucker

How to Have Success Using Social Network Marketing.

Social network marketing has become quite the trend amongst marketers looking to promote their businesses online. Social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube have made it easy for eager entrepreneurs to hop on the internet and network with people from around the world. Terms like tweeting, sharing, and voting have created quite the buzz amongst those who want to hop aboard the viral marketing trend.

The social network marketing trend is here to stay and there's a lot of opportunity for marketers to be able to capitalize on this craze. If you want to become successful using social media then you need to learn how to separate yourself from every other marketer on the internet.

It's important to brand yourself the right way if you want to differentiate yourself from all of the internet spammers that are out there today. People are being bombarded with business opportunities everyday so you need to find a way to create a positive first impression and catch your prospects attention.

It's alright to use social network marketing sites to promote your business as long as it's done in moderation. You don't want to become known as a spammer.

If you truly want to differentiate yourself from the majority of marketers that are using social network marketing the wrong way then it's important to connect with people and become personable.

Share about your personal life. Be yourself. Share fun and friendly photos with your family and friends. You can talk about your business opportunity as long as you use moderation.

If you want to have success in social network marketing then you need to learn attraction marketing techniques. People are attracted to people that have fun and don't take themselves too seriously.

It's important to use the curiosity approach when people ask about your business opportunity. Just stay cool and calm and don't go into a rant pitching your business. Use the takeaway approach and keep people chasing after you.

If you want to find out how to have prospects banging down your door asking about you and your business opportunity then I recommend getting a copy of the course Magnetic Sponsoring. This is the best course in the industry that teaches attraction marketing techniques.

Another key to having success in social network marketing is to make sure that you diversify your social presence.

It's important to stay active on all of the major social media sites so that people will have multiple ways to connect with you online.

Two of the best social networking sites are Better Networker and Warrior Forum. These sites are two of the top sites for network marketers to be able to network on. It's very important to make sure that you provide good content on these sites and don't become known as an internet spammer. These sites won't allow spamming of any kind. The good news is that if you provide value to other members on these sites then you could really build a good name for yourself in this industry.

Some of the biggest partnerships in this industry have been formed using these sites. If you provide good content on these sites and work on building your name then you could form some business relationships that could literally transform your business career.

Social network marketing is a great opportunity to network and connect with people around the world. If you are just yourself, have fun, and provide good content then you could have the business of your dreams using social media, and the best part is that social marketing is free to use.

How Not to Deal with Your Web Designer

Once I heard about this, I just had to write about it as a way to show you how NOT to deal with your Web designer.

Less than a year ago, we designed a Web site for a Milwaukee-area contractor. We specified to him that we would offer complimentary minor revisions and updates to the site within a year of it first being published live on the Internet.  Any revisions and updates of a larger scale, we told him, could be negotiated at a very attractive discount.

He raved about the design and our service.

And then, some months back, unbeknownst to us, he went to another Web designer to have his site entirely redesigned. We were puzzled by this, as he told us everything looked great, he still had revisions and updates coming to him if he needed them, and he had no problem paying us.

It turns out that he never paid the other Web designer, and the site was taken down a short time ago.

I met with the other Web designer today, and she told me that she, too, was puzzled as to why he would want a full redesign on a site that was still a ways away from being one year old.

We don't blame her for taking the site down. It's entirely out of our hands now. Now, he has to pay someone else (and rightfully so) in order to get his site back online.

If he had just contacted us with his questions, concerns, ideas, etc., his site would still be online and he most likely wouldn't have had to pay anything extra for making adjustments to his site.

Please let this be a valuable lesson for how to work with, and how to communicate with, your Web designer. Simple communication, honesty, and a collaborative spirit can save you time, headaches, and potentially boatloads of money.

As an additional resource, read my recent post, How Not to Promote Your Business on Facebook.

How to Build Traffic To Your Site Using Social Media

By John Stason

Your social connections can translate to site popularity if you only know how to use them. Think about it: All those connections mean real people that can translate to several things for a website: members, readers, a paying market, a free means for promotions and marketing. If you own a website, you can take advantage of your connections through social media to drive traffic to your site. Here's how:

Provide them with high quality content. It is very important for you to offer high quality content in your social media accounts. Make sure you provide information that would be useful for readers and that they'll reach each single word you wrote. With high quality content, people will think of passing this content to their friends and you'll have a large audience in no time.

Most online users in social media networks are looking for great and interesting content. This is the main reason why most of us check the internet for answers. If you want to make your website popular and drive traffic into it then you should offer great content to your social connections.

Usable content is essential. It is not enough for you to write high quality content, you should also provide your target market with a means of reaching the content you wrote. Content can easily be found and noticed if it is organized and located in the right place. Make sure your articles are easy for viewers to use and these articles should be optimized so that any online user looking for answers related to your topics will easily find your content.

Make yourself more visible. Even if you have hit your target market on your first article and managed to drive traffic to your site, don't stop. Continue writing and making your presence felt by your avid readers.

Update your submissions to different social media networks from time to time. Add this to your schedule and make sure to write more high quality content for your followers so that they'll remember you as someone who provides them with great content.

Through this, everytime you write a new article, people will get excited to read it and it'll get shared to other online users. After awhile, you'll slowly become popular among your target audience and they'll visit your website often.

Don't be shy to promote your content and website. Feel proud of what you have to offern and make sure to promote any new article or recent changes in your own website. Send emails to your target audience and mention the new things you have to offer. You can do the same on your podcasts or in articles you write for article directories.

Make sure you let people know who you are and what you have to offer. However, make sure you don't overdo it. Promoting your write-up or website too aggressively in social media networks might make you look too desperate. People are also more likely to be suspicious of your intentions if you sell yourself too hard.

Inspire people to interact. Although some would prefer their identity to be anonymous but then there are people who'd like to communicate with others online. Hence, you should consider creating an online poll, a comment box or feedback form for them to write their opinions or questions and make other people communicate with them.

It is not easy to use social media to drive traffic to your website but it can be done if you do it well. When done the right way, it is very effective and practical since you can drive traffic to your website with no cost at all except for time and effort in providing high quality content. Learn more on how to make use of your social connections in driving traffic to your site so you can surely take advantage of it.

By Samantha Mann

Facebook is a worldwide and the largest social-networking site. It has sufficient users from all sides of the Earth or perhaps more. The enormous most these folk of all walks of life spend few hours a week catching up with loved ones using this social network site. Nevertheless there is another handy fact with regards to this social network opportunity and it's the usage of Facebook for business.

If you have got a number of the automatically-linked content pages or a blog on your site, you can make a link to a first page for Facebook's promoting. Additionally, you can start with the easy Branding. It is important to substantiate a strong visible image when marketing on Facebook. This will as well be done with other sites for social-networking.

Branding is a vital factor to stand proud of the bunch. This may leave a dependable impression on your virtual audience. You can readily upload a picture of your business trademark or a great photograph of yourself to let folk see who you are.

Your image should as well go with a short, forceful outline. You can employ this as a method to refer to who you are and what you do within a 15-second of Facebook's fame. Make a real-life personality that folks can handle onto and that others will remember.

Lots of people miss the opportunity to supply info regarding their business and forget to market this necessary content on Facebook. This is easy but strong. Likewise, it is a best way of placing yourself and your business as leaders in the industry. It's important to write an informative and entertaining note. You can upload the note on top of your profile.

After this creativeness, tagging few folk and adding their names to the note are critical. When the note goes live, they will see it and more importantly, their supporters and friends will see it too. In doing this simple publishing, the note will actually spread swiftly.

In using Facebook for business, you can join groups and begin to talk to people with related interests and business ideas as yours. Finding the big players in your industry can easily be noted. This is a good way to start to build relations with folks for a common benefit somewhere down the line. Networking is what social sites like Facebook are all about. Take this great opportunity and make your interest be heard.

Facebook is a fine place to publish yourself, as well as your business. But interruption is inescapable, and you might lose focus on the task. Keep in mind that if you are using Facebook for business, that is exactly what you need to make sure of.
