Wisconsin's Tourism Spending Up 8%

In case you missed it this past weekend, great little write-up in Saturday's (May 5) Business section of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on tourism spending in Wisconsin. Read the article here.

The article goes on to state that visitors to Wisconsin spent $10 billion last year, 2011. According to the article, that amount is an 8% increase from 2010, and it supports over 128,000 jobs here in Wisconsin directly.

This is very inspiring news, and I really can't wait to see what 2012's figures will hold in store. When you think about it, we as a state have so many neat attractions to offer, for both business and leisure travelers: Green Bay, home of our beloved Green Bay Packers; the beautiful wineries, resorts, and camping in Door County; the fun of the Wisconsin Dells, which never disappoints; Milwaukee, home of our great Milwaukee Brewers, plenty of first-class hotels and conference centers, and lots to eat, see, and do; and so many, many more points of interest in between. We really are a great state. And we should be very proud of these numbers.

Again, check out the full article on the Journal Sentinel Web site here.
