Getting A Nicer LPN Salary

By Natasha Bloch

Getting the best LPN Salary is combination of doing the right schoolwork, getting the right job, and doing a few things once you're already working. You do have to get through nursing school, but you also need to find some good opportunities outside of your job and school once you're in the workplace. You can also make more money than you though by just doing a little extra work.

Nursing school is just the first step in a long road to getting yourself into the best position possible to make as much money as possible. Go to school where there is a good hospital close by. You can intern at the hospital and then just go ahead and get a job there right after you graduate. In fact, it's a lot easier to get a job that way than any other way.

Once you get a nursing degree, you should start working and enjoying your job. Make some new friends, and get used to the landscape so that you can decide how you want to advance yourself. Don't think about getting into management right away, because only those with lots of experience get those kinds of positions.

Your typical LPN has some flexibility in their schedule when they are working full-time. There will usually be a few days on and then a few days off every month. You can work your schedule and use your days off to learn more and get a few initials after your name so that you can make more money.

Many nurses can study medical malpractice and there are even courses in medical malpractice that don't have to do with a full law degree. Getting an initial next to your name and being able to an expert for someone will help pad your wallet and it will allow you to work in a field besides medicine. Not a bad idea for a nurse on an entry-level salary.

There are other professional learning opportunities that nurses can get through their employer or through other outlets that will allow them to get those desired initials, and it could also make them more money. A good professional education program allows you to learn the most and make the most all at the same time.

Earning more that what's on your weekly paycheck is more about learning than it is about promotions. You can finish school, do some more study, and then you can get a raise or look better for another job. You can always use your skills to make more money if you do things the right way.
