As we head into 2013, I want to take some time out to reflect on 2012 and this blog.
I launched this blog almost three years ago, near the start of 2010. It's become an ongoing project for me, one in which I've developed a deep and burning passion for, and here's why: It's helping people, and I love to help others. If this blog helps a business make just one more sale; if it helps connect two or more like-minded people through opportunities to network, exchange ideas, share referrals, and grow personally and professionally; if it helps just one more business owner or professional experience that "ah ha!" lightbulb moment because s/he learned a few more tips and tricks by reading a marketing article here; and if it simply brings a smile to one more person's face for whatever reason, then I know I did my job.
2012 saw an interesting year for this blog. First off, I returned to school in the fall of 2011 to pursue a master's degree in management. Along with that, I've been posting a lot of my academic papers and research on this blog throughout the year, with the hope that it helps business owners and professionals in some way. One of my papers, on the topic of Management By Objectives (MBO), even went on to become listed in the Google Scholar search engine, which I thought was pretty cool. I was also privileged, beginning in December of 2011 and continuing on periodically throughout this year, to secure some really neat interviews as part of my work in freelance writing and journalism. This fall, I started dabbling in lyrics writing, mostly in the blues genre, just one of my many favorite forms of music. This is all in addition to publishing your ready-to-go press releases, announcements, event listings, articles, etc., and providing the scoop on business news, networking groups and events, and fun things to do around the greater Milwaukee area.
And I couldn't have done any of this without you. You're the reason why I continue on with this project, which truly has become a labor of love for me. I'm really looking forward to bringing you some great content here in 2013.
I wish you all a safe and blessed holiday season, and a prosperous and healthy new year! Thanks for a great 2012, and I look forward to helping you out in my own small way here in 2013!
All the Best,
