Piggly Wiggly Making a Strong Comeback

For those of you who missed it, great article on the front page of today's Business section in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about the grocery chain Piggly Wiggly.

For a number of years, it looked like Piggly Wiggly was slowly but surely disappearing, at least here in southeastern Wisconsin, the result of heavy competition from the likes of Pick 'n' Save, Sendik's, Walmart, and other stores. Even Target stores are now offering a full line of grocery items.

The article talks about how Piggly Wiggly is expanding in the area and how the corporation is shifting to a model that is more conducive for franchisees.

It's nice to see Piggly Wiggly stores starting to make a strong comeback. I worked in the produce department of a Piggly Wiggly in high school, and we have a nice store here in Muskego. And, in my opinion, Piggly Wiggly has always had great meats, as does Sentry.
