Learning how to quit smoking does not just happen overnight as you'll have to prepare yourself and plan it out. Think of activities that will get your mind off of smoking. Considering how cravings are normal for smokers, you should prepare yourself to deal with the situation.

Rewards should be considered in this case and you can use them to give yourself a boost every time you go without smoking. Do consider using a calendar to track your process in this case. The rewards should be things that will motivate you like shoes or shopping if that is your thing.

Remember that you will have an easier time transitioning if you do not look at quitting as a hassle. If you plan on quitting smoking, take it one day at a time. Here, something you can do is smoke a little bit less every single day.

When it comes to something like quitting smoking, your state of mind is one of the most important factors. A positive attitude in this case tells you that you can do it, you can quit smoking. If you constantly think about the negativities of quitting smoking, chances are you will be derailed over and over again.

Smoking can really take a toll on the lungs and it is with exercise that you can regain strength if you are able to quit smoking. Aside from improving the condition of your body, you will also be able to beat stress. Start eating right by opting for healthy meals and drinking plenty of water too.

Another important element to your task is getting the support of your circle. Let your loved ones know ahead of time that you'll probably be irritable and even irrational the first few weeks of quitting and kindly ask them to understand and deal with such circumstances. In this case, visit forums every now and then so that you will have the chance to speak to those who are trying to quit smoking as well.

Remember that you need to have something that will help you keep your mind off of smoking. Hold on to a piece of candy when it comes to this. You can also write on your journal when the urges get too intense to handle.
