Major Shopping Malls in Milwaukee

There are countless places to shop in the metro Milwaukee area that are willing to sell you a whole assortment of goods and services. To help you narrow down which places you’d like to visit, here is a sampling of the more notable malls in the area with a little information about what you can expect to find in each one.

You’ll also notice that the address and business hours for each mall have been listed below so you’ll know when and where to go to satisfy all of your shopping needs. Please note that specific store hours may differ from the standard mall hours and that special holiday hours are not reflected in the information below. Also, for any younger readers or parents with school age children, there is information about when and where adult accompaniment may be required at the end of this article.


Bayshore Town Center

Hours: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Monday to Saturday) and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Sunday)

Located on N. Bayshore Drive in Glendale, Bayshore Town Center is a two story outdoor shopping center containing over 90 stores (anchor stores being Sears, Boston Store, and Kohl’s). There are over 20 dining choices including Applebee’s, The Cheesecake Factory, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, and Qdoba Mexican Grill. Beyond that, Bayshore Town Center is also home to a movie theatre, a sports bar, and an eleven lane bowling alley.

Brookfield Square

Brookfield Square is located on N. Moorland Road in the Milwaukee suburb of Brookfield. It is a one story shopping mall consisting of over 125 stores headlined by Boston Store, Sears, and JCPenney. Other major names in the mall are Old Navy and Barnes & Noble. When it comes to dining out, Brookfield Square has seven sit-down restaurants to choose from including Cucina Italiana, Red Robin, and Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant among others. There is also a food court offering nine additional dining options.

Mayfair Mall

Mayfair Mall is a two story shopping center located on North Mayfair Road in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. It contains over 180 shops including its three main department stores – Boston Store, Macy’s, and Crate & Barrel. AMC Theatres also has an 18 screen cinema on the second level of the Macy’s Wing (movie showtimes are available on the Mayfair Mall website) and there are several sit-down restaurants to choose from including Applebee’s, The Cheesecake Factory, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, and Maggiano’s Little Italy.

Southridge Mall

Southridge Mall, which is located on South 76th Street in Greendale, is metro Milwaukee’s largest shopping center measuring in at 1.2 million square feet. It contains over 120 specialty shops and services spread over two stories. It is also the only Milwaukee-area mall that houses five major department stores – Macy’s, Sears, JCPenney, Boston Store, and Kohl’s. Food is available from twelve “order at the counter” restaurants located in the food court including Arby’s, China Max, McDonald’s, and Subway.

The Shops of Grand Avenue

As the only major indoor shopping center found in downtown Milwaukee, The Shops of Grand Avenue mall covers three city blocks of West Wisconsin Avenue. The mall contains 75 shops in a range of categories, with Boston Store and T.J. Maxx as the main department store draws. Dining options, which can be found in downtown Milwaukee’s largest food court, include Applebee’s, Cajun Grille, Panda Express, and Subway among others.

** Please note that some of the malls in the metro Milwaukee area require that all visiting youths be accompanied by a supervising adult at certain times. Though the full details of these policies can be found on each participating mall’s website, here are some specific mall policies you may be interested in:

Bayshore Town Center requires parental or legal guardian accompaniment for all patrons aged 17 and under after 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and after 3 p.m. on Sundays. Those aged 17 and under are also asked to stay in school while school is in session instead of visiting the mall. Additional restrictions require all movie theater guests after 7 p.m. to be aged 21 and over.

Brookfield Square requires all patrons aged 18 and under to be accompanied by a parent, teacher, or guardian during school hours. Home schooled students and those aged 16 and 17 with proof of reduced school hours or a certificate of completion are welcome to visit the mall unaccompanied.

Mayfair Mall requires parental or supervising adult accompaniment for patrons aged 17 and under from 3 p.m. to closing on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Youths are welcome to visit the mall unsupervised prior to 3 p.m., but must either leave the mall or be joined by an adult once 3 p.m. arrives on these days.
