Milwaukee County Residents Encouraged to Sign Up for Affordable Health Care
Elected officials, others to highlight new health care options coming Oct. 1MILWAUKEE – County Executive Chris Abele; Mayor Tom Barrett; and Kathleen Falk, Region V Director of the US Department of Health and Human Services are encouraging people to enroll in health plans as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Health Insurance Marketplace takes effect on October 1st.
Open enrollment in the ACA Marketplace starts October 1st, with coverage starting as soon as Jan 1, 2014. Individuals can go to www.healthcare.gov to enroll in an affordable health plan or call 211. Individuals will be able to see all their health insurance options, including the new plans that fit their needs and budget.
Beginning October 1st, the Health Insurance Marketplace will make it easy for people in Milwaukee County and across the state to compare qualified health plans, get answers to questions, find out about insurance options, and enroll in health coverage.
