Outsourcing with Fiverr.com

By Aaron S. Robertson

A while back, I attended a great business and motivational seminar hosted by the folks at BusinessSuccessTraining.com right here in Brookfield. The presenter was Steve Black. I highly recommend attending a seminar by Business Success Training if you get the opportunity. I really enjoyed it. I try to attend events like this every so often, whenever I can.

Anyways, Steve Black introduced us to quite a number of different resources and tools out on the Web that we can take advantage of to promote our businesses and personal brands. I had already heard of most of these resources he mentioned, and was already making use of many of them.

One of the Web sites he mentioned though, Fiverr.com, never really captured my attention prior to this event. Sure, I knew of Fiverr. First heard about it quite a while back. But for whatever reason, it just never caught my interest. Well, that changed within a few days of attending this seminar. I am now hooked on Fiverr, and cannot believe I ignored it for so long.

So just what is Fiverr, you're asking? In a nutshell, it's a site that essentially allows you to outsource all sorts of little tasks and jobs, all starting with a base price of just $5. The site joins sellers with unique talents or resources at their disposal with buyers interested in their services. These gigs range anywhere from resume and cover letter writing to paper editing, voice overs, video and photography work, article writing, various online marketing tasks, flier design and distribution, etc., etc.

Buying is really easy. You just create a simple account with an e-mail address and password, and you're ready to go shopping. Payments are made through PayPal. Safeguards are in place to ensure a seller meets your expectations and deadlines. Payment is taken from you right away, but it is held by Fiverr and not delivered to the seller until you approve of the work that was done. If a seller fails to meet your expectations or deadlines, you can either request modifications or simply cancel the job. If you choose to cancel, you'll be refunded in the form of a credit that you can apply to future purchases on the site.

Selling is just as easy as buying.

Check the site out when you have a few moments. It's really worth looking into, and it's a lot of fun to see what kind of creativity is out there.
